Autocater was built for everyday people. You don't need any technical skills, developer accounts, or configuration to use it.

Set Up Your Profile (30 Seconds)

Click the Autocater icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the Setup Wizard. You can either:

  • Drop your PDF resume: Autocater's offline parser extracts your name, email, phone, job title, and social links instantly.
  • Enter details manually: Type your basic contact details and work history directly into the clean form.

Open Any Job Application Page

Navigate to any company career portal on the internet. Whether the application is hosted on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, or a custom company site, Autocater automatically detects the form inputs in the background.

Click the Floating Pill

A sleek green button labelled [ ✦ Autofill with Autocater ] will appear discreetly in the bottom-right corner of your screen. Click it once, and watch your contact details, past job roles, schools, and links fill into the page automatically with a soft green confirmation glow.

Review and Submit with Confidence

Autocater never submits applications on your behalf without your permission. Take a quick glance at the filled form, make any personalized adjustments if you'd like, and click "Submit Application" with confidence.

Does Autocater store my resume on the internet?
No, never. Autocater is built with a strict local-first architecture. Your contact details, resume text, and profiles are saved directly on your computer in your browser's private local storage. We do not have servers storing your resume.
Will Autocater submit my application automatically without me looking?
Never. Autocater is an assistive tool that populates the inputs on your screen. You always remain in complete control to review every answer before you manually click "Next" or "Submit Application".
Can I create multiple profiles (e.g. for different types of jobs)?
Yes! Click the "+ New" button in the extension popup to create multiple tailored profiles (for example, "Product Manager", "Software Engineer", or "Remote Roles"). You can switch between them with one click.
What should I do if a custom question on a form doesn't fill?
You can add any unique question as a Custom Field. In the popup, click "+ Add Field", type the name of the question and your default answer. Next time you encounter that question on any company site, Autocater will fill it automatically.
How do I backup my profiles or move them to a new computer?
Open the extension Settings (the gear icon ⚙) and click "Export JSON" (Backup Profiles). It saves a safe backup file to your computer. On your new laptop, simply click "Import JSON" to restore all your profiles in 1 second.
Why does Autocater block Word (.docx) resumes?
For your safety! Word files can contain hidden executable macros and malicious scripts. Autocater accepts clean, secure PDF files and parses them locally without security risks.
